WHAT IS AVPRO ACADEMY?

The world of technology is always advancing and the Audio Video industry is no different. Keeping up with the latest advancements can be tough.

AVPro wants to help with that burden by offering industry training where you are able to learn the ins and outs of 4K, HDR, EDID management, display calibration and more.

This educational event is a mixture of traditional classroom learning with a huge portion of hands-on training.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

 

Jeff Murray the founder and president of AVPro Global Holdings, the company that created AVPro Edge and Murideo, industry-leading video distribution. Jeff Murray is a Certified ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) instructor of 18 years and is highly regarded in the AV and integration industry as one of the world’s most knowledgeable figures when it comes to distributing 4K HDR signals reliably around the home or commercial environment. With more than 30 years of  experience in the electronics/audio visual world starting with US Army, then with Sencore, and later with SpectraCal. Jeff is certified by THX, ISF Level I/II, ISF Commercial and DSEG. He utilizes his experience and combined knowledge to lead AVPro to where it is today

Course Outline

18Gbps – 4K HDR Video Distribution. (Theory)

  • Audio and Visual Signals and how HDMI works.
  • How to successfully manage and distribute 4K Video signals.
  • How to distribute 4K in a mixed environment.
  • Understand and manage EDID’s.
  • The future of Video – Fibre – Why you need to consider prewiring fibre!

Practical Hands On

 

The first part of session 2 will be setting up devices in the system – Matrix Switches, Extenders, and Scalers using the AVPro family of products.

We will then work through some real-life troubleshooting exercises using our HDMI generators and analyzers to help you understand and deal with issues that will arise out in the field.

  • Fault finding HDMI cables.
  • EDID issues.
  • HDCP issues.
  • Bandwidth limitations.
  • A practical example of when and why to scale.

In the second part of the Workshop, you will learn to terminate Bullet Train Fibre cable and see how easy and fast it is to terminate.

ISF Calibration

To finish off the day you will then be introduced to ISF calibration.
You will gain a basic fundamental understanding of:

  • Room Design
  • Gamma
  • Dynamic Range
  • Colour Saturation and Accuracy
  • Resolution

The AvPro Academy will be held on Tuesday the 11th of June at the Waipuna Highbrook Convention Centre. Parking is available at the conference centre.
